We here at Blackhawk provide reliable care, clean facilities, and a team that treats your horse like their own. Our boarding program is built for owners who want consistency, communication, and a place where their horse can truly flourish. We offer full care, partial care, and self-care boarding options that you can read more on below. All equines that stay at Blackhawk are required to have a current Coggins and updated health papers confirming they are up to date on all vaccinations and worming.
"I can really tell that the people here care about the horses under their watch. Since moving my horse to their facility, she's settled right in and is so much happier than where she was. They take great care of keeping their waters and pens cleaned and one thing is for sure- my girl doesn't miss a single meal!" -A satisfied boarder
According to your instructions, we take complete care of your horse. This includes a private pen with a shelter, 2 hour daily turnout, excercise on our hot walker Monday through Friday as weather permits, grain (12% all stock pellets) and hay twice daily, administration of monthly wormer, scheduling/holding for routine farrier and vet visits as needed, and blanketing during the winter months if one is provided by owner. If your horse also has supplements and/or medication that it needs, we will also provide that according to instructions. You are welcome to come out and ride or visit with your horse during our facility's open hours and all special feed, medication, and suppliments need to be provided by the owner.
This option shares a few similarities with our full-care one, like a private pen with a shelter, 2 hour daily turnout, excercise on our hot walker Monday through Friday as weather permits, and scheduling/holding for routine farrier and vet visits as needed. It is on the owner to provide all feed, hay, and wormer for the horse, but we will feed, water, and clean the pen daily.
Our smallest package, this option includes a private pen with a shelter, 2 hour daily turnout, excercise on our hot walker Monday through Friday as weather permits, and sheduling/holding for routine farrier and vet visits as needed. The owner is responsible for purchase of hay and feed along with feeding, watering, and cleaning said horse's pen daily.
While keeping a horse at Blackhawk Creek, owners are responsible for farrier fees, vet costs, special treatments (i.e. chiroractor), dental work, and any additional feed and/or suppliments that their animal(s) may need.
Owners will have access to our hot walker, roundpen, main riding areas, wash racks, turnout areas, storage for hay and feed, and storage for their tack and equipment.
Owners are also responsible for the condition of their animal. If an animal's condition is beginning to suffer as a result of owner treatment/care, then Blackhawk must make a report. We have a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to an animal being abused or neglected.
